Can I heal? Is there any hope? These are questions asked by most women who are
struggling with an addiction.
The answer is yes. With a lot of work and help
you can heal.
At Helping Hands Women's Outreach Ministries, we
recognize that
many issues that have caused deep emotional pain in your life will emerge as
you seek help and
begin your road to healing. Founded in 2001, HHWOM offers information,
Christian counseling, mentoring, and
other support and assistance to women who
are transitioning from prison and/or struggling with addiction. Participants
begin Phase 1 of their Healing Process during Pre-Release Phase of incarceration
or while on
probation.

Our Program begins with a Four Phase Emotional Healing Class that addresses
the root
cause of addiction. It is a specialized type of counseling that focuses specifically
on Healing and Recovery.
Four Phase Emotional Healing Class:
• Phase I- A facilitator begins with a thorough assessment to determine
each individual’s weaknesses and needs. Each participant is treated with
dignity. Facilitator will assess individual’s specific needs and guides
them through entire program. Full schedule for Phase 1 includes: individual
and group counseling, introduction to facilitator, to other class participants
and group guidelines.
• Phase II- This is the discovery part of the class. We begin a discovery
process with each woman based on cause and effect. We explore how personal
choices have affected participants’ level of happiness. Focus is on how
faith and spiritual beliefs are important parts of healing process and how
faith can provide participants with a sense of purpose and guidelines for living
drug-free lives.
• Phase III- Because of their addiction the majority of women in the
program have caused chaos in their homes and lost the trust of their family
and community. Many of them are unsure of what the future holds when they return
to society. We work with the women throughout the class to develop boundaries
and workable solutions prior to re-entry.
• Phase IV- This is the Exit Phase of the Program. During this Phase
of the program women begin to work on exit strategy and connect with our aftercare
Renewed Hope Mentoring Program. At the completion of all 4 Phases each woman
receives a signed certificate confirming her accomplishment.
Added to our success is the developing collaborative partnership with the
Chesterfield Women’s Diversion Center, located in western Chesterfield,
County near Richmond, Virginia
